CC Water Watch

Cayuta Catatonk Water Watch

CCWW is a volunteer water monitoring group which monitors the Cayuta and Catatonk watersheds specifically for red flag indicators of gas drilling contamination. We partner with the lab at Community Science Institute in Ithaca for technical assistance, quality control and assurance and display of our data on their web-site.

We engage and empower citizens to learn about, celebrate and protect the water resources where they live.

We have 28 volunteers testing 25 sites each month for 5 parameters: Temperature, pH, conductivity, total dissolved oxygen and total hardness. This valuable data is establishing a picture of the overall pre-drilling health of the watersheds.

We will continue monitoring our sites, adding new sites and/or volunteers.

We will collect comprehensive chemical signature baseline tests at strategic locations to be used as lab certified baselines.
