Shaleshock Newsletter

The Shaleshock Citizens Action Alliance Newsletter reaches people with photos, stories, interviews and reports about the Shaleshock Movement. Newsletters are distributed by members and volunteers, in neighborhoods and events, at outreach tabling and to drop-ins at the office.

Write for the Newsletter!

As an individual: submit an article or story. Get your voice heard!

As a working group: What have you been up to? How can people get more involved in what you’re doing?

As an artist/photographer: Give us photos, comics, drawings, etc… to help with layout and what not.

Tabling on the Commons TONIGHT – Join us!

If anyone would like to join us, we will be tabling on the Ithaca Commons in front of Autumn Leaves, from about 5:30-8pm during the music. Even if you haven’t tabled before, come meet us and get involved!

Put this poster up in your neighborhood!

Thanks to everyone who’s been putting up our new poster about natural gas drilling in Tompkins County – we’ve seen them all over the place!

Let’s keep it up. Here’s a new PDF version of the poster that’s designed for any county (not just Tompkins). Please print and distribute!

Tabling on Thursday – any volunteers?

Is anyone interested in tabling for Shaleshock this Thursday between 5 and 8:30 pm on the Commons? This is the last evening of music on the Commons so there should be a good crowd. Eric Banford and Laurie Roe are looking for help with this, volunteers could do just half-hour or hour shifts! Please email Laurie at roelaur@gmail.com if you are interested. Thank you.

Help us table at the Ithaca Farmer's Market

Shaleshock members Laurie and Ryan are going to try for a booth at the Farmer’s Market in Ithaca this Sunday. We have impressive photos and schematics as well as a lot of pamphlets and other literature to hand out. Laurie will be calling the Market early in the morning on Sunday to see if there is an empty booth we could use from 10am to 2pm.

Laurie is wondering if anyone else would like to do some tabling; we could do two shifts of two hours, if two more people wanted to help. If you are interested, please email your phone number to roelaur at gmail dot com so Laurie can reach you on Sunday morning. This is an important way to help spread the word about natural gas drilling in our community – please help if you can!
